planning + procrastination

So, it’s been a week since my last entry and I’ve done minimal moving tasks. I’ve started to get back into art again which is nice, but also distracting

Planning a cross country move as an adult is a lot different than it is as a 19-year-old. The last time I moved I only took what I could fit in my sedan. Buying a house is also a lot different than it was when I was 26.

The combination of a big move and purchasing a new home is overwhelming but I’m doing alright so far. It’s really creeping up. closing date is 1 month from today I’m putting my to-do list here to force myself to do it. I’m adding stars to anything that can be done this weekend/I want to accomplish this weekend

  • Make vet appointments for all pets
  • Schedule car pick-ups
  • Take inventory
  • Decide which plants stay and which plants go
  • Get written confirmation for early lease termination
  • Solidify dates
  • Get moving quotes
  • Notify work of exact dates
  • Map route
  • Find lodging that allows pets
  • Pack: Goal is 5 boxes this weekend!
  • Deep clean: Goal is to clean the entry way closet this weekend
  • Schedule contractors and other services
    • HVAC
    • Pool
    • Carpet
    • Internet

Last but not least, this week I learned my labubu is a lafufu.

I spent a lot of time on this layout and I like looking at it. I hope this means that I’ll spend more time writing in it than have in my previous blogs. My general idea is to chronical my cross country move and my new *beautiful* life in a new, but somewhat familiar state. I also want to get back into thrifting again, maybe gardening too? Who knows what else this move will bring. All I know is that the first step here is to make it through this logistical nightmare so I can get to the good part where I’m all unpacked and settled into my new home.
